Just a note they over the past week I posted a ton of posts, so please scroll down and check to see if you might have missed any.
Blog Changes:
-
Blog Renamed to Eric’s Detroit Zoo Blog (weblog). Some day (weblog) will be dropped. Click Here for the reason.
-
The About page has been changed to About Eric And His Blog to be more descriptive. Nothing on the page has been updated. I do understand that is not complete and hope to get to it soon.
-
I added Detroit Zoo Resources with links to web pages I think are important and other places and news stroies on the Internet you may find of intrest. There is even a link to Channel 4 WDIV’s Detroit Zoo page with live webcams from 10a-5p. Remember the old Zoo commerical where the Zoo Animals get ready for the zoo opening. There is a link to that too. I should post it as a blog entry too.
What would you like to me to blog about? Would you like some content added to the blog? And suggestions are welcome!

After playing with Google. Detroit Zoo Blog does not even list my blog on the first two pages. Detroit Zoo Weblog does. I think I took the original sample from WordPress and added Eric’s Detroit Zoo. To better promote my blog, I think it is best to change it to Eric’s Detroit Zoo Blog. I will leave “(weblog)” in for a bit to let the search engines changed the cached search results to the proper one.

Filed under: African Grasslands, Australian Outback, Blesbok, Day At The Zoo, Lions, Snow Monkeys, Wolverine
I am not sure what these are, but they are pretty much in a line up eating!
I believe this is a Blesbok
Snow Monkey’s sit outside their heating pool!! looks inviting!!
Rarely does a Leemer that’s outside sits long enough and poses for you! 2 other people commented about him posing for me.
The wolverine was nice enough too!!
Kangaroo’s were out enjoying themselves.
The zoo had a visitor today. Some kind of hawk by the Bison.
I have now posted all my pictures from this trip! I will move on to the next. There are a few I left out for a special post coming soon from this visit so stay tuned!!
Filed under: Butterfly Garden, Day At The Zoo, Matilda Wilson Free-Flight Aviary, Wildlife Interpretive Gallery
I was lucky enough to get my camera really close to a still butterfly:
The butterfly was facing backwards so I had to reach around around with my arm. I wish I could have gotten the face better, but I think it is a very nice pic. And thanks to the comment on this photo on Flickr, you know who you are!
I never checked out the room to the left in the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery, after seeing people below the fish tank and was pleasantly greeted by this going in that room.
I also found this very beautiful picture on the wall. You loose some in the photograph
I even found wild coffee growing in the butterfly garden for us coffee lovers!
More butterfly pictures
And one from the aviary: (Scarlet Ibis)
I have more to post, but I do not want to make this too long. I will post again within the next several days, one includes a non-native bird to the zoo.
