Eric’s Detroit Zoo Blog (Weblog)

About Eric and His Blog

I created this blog to  share my experinces at the Detroit Zoo.

If you have any questions about the Detroit Zoo, please feel free to e-mail me! Maybe I will even post it in the blog! (Don’t worry, I will only use your first name, and upon request I will use the name Anonymous.)

Outside of school trips to the zoo, and family visits when I was young. I got interested in the zoo back in 2006 when the City of Detroit wanted to give up the zoo without giving up ownership, I was stunned and figured I had to do something, so I got a Membership (+Guest) and wrote Oakland County and Detroit to have Oakland County Parks & Recreation take it over, but Detroit did not want too… For years I wanted to volunteer somewhere, and I thought of the Detroit Zoo and Gilda’s Club of Detroit. I was at first thinking of Gilda’s Club because it helps people with cancer and friends and family with people with cancer, but due to them being burred in Royal Oak near Clawson with slow clogged roads, and the fact the zoo has animals and I love them and they are faster to get too. I decided to choose the zoo.

More to come in the near future.

Everything on this blog is the opinion of Eric Vogel, not that of Detroit Zoological Society, Detroit Zoo and the City of Detroit. This blog is maintained by Eric Vogel, and only Eri c Vogel.

Hi Eric, name’s Allen and my wife and I are members. I was casting around to do something zoo-related so I also started a blog: http://dzbuddy.blogspot.com/

I’m looking for any information I can find about the zoo to supplement my familiarity with the zoo so if you know of any sources of information, I’d appreciate knowing about them.

Thanks

Allen (and Ann)

Eric:

I really like your site. I invite you to look at a U.S. postage stamp that I created in support of the Detroit Zoo. It can be viewed at [link removed by blog owner. Have no way of confirming if the monies is donated to the Detroit Zoological Society or not.]
